Eldorado
$15.00Price
Eldorado is my third song cycle featuring poetry by Edgar Allan Poe. The inspiration for this cycle comes from two places: Debussy's La Cathedrale Engloutie and the story of Don Quixote. Eldorado is about a rich city which has been lost under the sea, and a knight who goes looking for it. The first song describes a lovely palace which is overwhelmed by "evil things." The second song introduces the knight, and the next two songs describe places where he searches. The final song tells about "The City in the Sea," which the knight finally realizes is the lost city, Eldorado.
